Girard-Perregaux Girard-Perregaux 1966 series, a tribute to the sixties. Speaking of GP Girard-Perregaux, you cannot fail to mention 1966. GP Girard-Perregaux first introduced a movement called “Gyromatic” in 1957, equipped with an automatic winding mechanism, with a vibration frequency of 18,000 revolutions per hour. It was finally developed in 1966. The high-frequency movement that balances the balance wheel at 36,000 revolutions per hour uses mechanical principles to divide each second into 10 equal parts. The time division is finer, and the time of the watch is more accurate. With this innovative technology and watch design, GP Girard-Perregaux was awarded the “Observatory Centennial Award” in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The brand specially launched the 1966 series to pay tribute to this vintage.
