First launched in 1975, the Laureato is a gem of sporty elegance. With its sleek lines and easy wearability in an integrated bracelet, the Laureato blends aesthetics and functionality as only Girard-Perregaux can do. In 2019, we launched the Absolute expression of the Laureato. Absolute because of its uncompromising features, the bold design is Laureato at its sportiest and most contemporary. From bold architectural steel and super-light high-tech titanium to the elegant classicism of pink gold and the radiant sparkle of brilliant-cut diamonds, the Laureato collection offers a fascinating material spectrum with universal appeal. The raised octagonal bezel is the commanding feature of the Laureato, which translates to the ‘graduate’ in Italian in homage to the Milanese architect who designed the original for Girard-Perregaux in 1975. The octagon shape allows for unusual reflections of light as the sides gently flow into each other across convex and concave surfaces, especially in skeletonised models. The fluid transition from the case to the integrated metal bracelet follows both the taste of the time during its 1970s debut and the transformation in watch technology that Girard-Perregaux celebrated inside the Laureato: the first appearance of an uncommonly slim and compact quartz movement.
