The Ulysse Nardin Classic Dual Time Enamel is a perfect example of the way Ulysse Nardin produces watches. A combination of traditional watchmaking, modern materials – like the use of silicium in the UN-324 caliber – and a classic dial. A Grand Feu enamel dial to be precise. Together with roman numerals, blued hands and a blue alligator leather strap, it results in a chic look. By the way, Grand Feu is an enameling technique that goes back to the 17th century, and is practiced today only by a handful of craftsmen. Including those at Ulysse Nardin’s sister company Donzé Cadrans. The mechanism used by Ulysse Nardin is extremely simple to use. It is instantly adjustable both forwards and backwards with an easy push of a button. These buttons are found at 8 and 10 o’clock. When pressed, the pushers adjust the hour hand to a different time zone while the home time indicator at 9 o’clock continues its 24-hour cycle. The time and date setting is another handy feature. The selector is integrated in the crown allowing to change settings without pulling and pushing the crown. The crown-function indicator at 3 o’clock shows what you can do or adjust: W (winding), D (date) and T (time).
